GtkSpell error: enchant error for language: en [SOLVED] [Oct. 22nd, 2004|12:06 am]

[Current Mood |thoughtfulpuzzled]

I'm running LogJam 4.4.0 on a Gentoo box with logjam compiled against gtkspell-2.0.4 and enchant-1.1.3. SpellChecking support is enabled, but doesn't work. I'm getting the following error dialog twice when starting LogJam:

"GtkSpell error: enchant error for language: en"

I understand that this is probably not a LogJam error, but that of gtkspell. However, maybe someone here ran across this problem and fixed it somehow?

Thanks for any help.

Edit: Found out that this is really an aspell problem. Aspell just had an old version of en dict installed. Installing the new version fixed the problem.

By the way is it somehow possible to use spell check in
two languages simultaneously? :) I usually use English
and Russian and LogJam's spell check seems to be working
only with one of it every session.

Gentoo Users

Since this comes up as top ranking for this issue in Google, as a note if you are a Gentoo user you need to make sure that you emerge aspell-en as well so that it has a language to check against. Replace the en with your two letter language abbreviation as required.
