"Bad Password" [Mar. 26th, 2004|03:09 am]

I'm using logjam 4.3.2, Debian package 4.3.2-2 (unstable). About 30% of the time I submit an entry, "synchronize offline copy", or anything that talks to the server, it either says my password is wrong or it got a bad challenge from the server. It works if I try again one or two times, without changing anything.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It never happened to me in 4.3.1 or earlier, and I don't know whether it's logjam getting confused or the server being funny. It's no real trouble as I just try again and it works, but it's irritating and a bit baffling.

I think that's what I'm seeing sometimes myself.

Part of it's LJ's fault: we need to report back to the client when the challenge is stale vs. when the password used with the challenge was bad. In the former case, LogJam can just fetch a new challenge and try again.

I'll put somebody on this. **nudges Junior**

Neat, I was worried something was going flaky on my system. It's nice to find out that's not [neccesarily] the case.

I don't think we cache challenges (Evan?) so unless the client machine is VERY busy why should a challenge run stale?
