LogJam 4.1.1 [Apr. 12th, 2003|04:38 pm]

[evan]
LogJam 4.1.1 has been released.
Visit the LogJam page to download it.

Changes from 4.1.0:
  • Show <lj user="foo"> tags in HTML preview.
  • Checkfriends supports putting an icon in the GNOME/KDE dock. (Officially, this supports some sort of standard, so it ought to work with docks elsewhere; we've only tested with GNOME 2.2 and KDE.)
  • And, as usual, a big pile of minor tweaks and bug fixes.

New Defunct process Spawned on friend check

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm getting a new process spawned (I suspect) every time logjam checks my friends. And they are all defunct. Here's what ps -A returned just 2 minutes after starting logjam:
 5240 ? 00:00:01 logjam
 5241 ? 00:00:00 logjam <defunct>
 5243 ? 00:00:00 logjam <defunct>
 5276 ? 00:00:00 logjam <defunct>

Also what happened to login on startup?

Peace
GB

Re: New Defunct process Spawned on friend check

Hm, I thought I reported that to evan. Whoops, guess I forgot.

Also, there was a thread a while back about autologin being a bad idea (especially by default), so it was gotten rid of I believe.

I think I have fixed this bug:

Dock

Okay, love the docking!

One idea, if you have the docking going, closing the Logjam window perhaps doesn't close logjam (eg. gaim)

Re: Dock

This was discussed, we haven't quite decided what will happen with the dock, and it might eventually be like gaim's dock. However, for the time being, it's basically just an exact clone of the friends indicator.

The dock also works with the standalone program docker You might want to mention all 3 (GNOME2 w/notification area, KDE3, and docker) in the README.

Uploaded Debian package to experimental, and will stay there until libgtkhtml3.0 is moved to unstable.

I'm using unstable and I have it... ?

libgtkhtml3-0

Or did I pull it from experimental?

Multiple Journals

I have several journals (not communities) to which I post. With the last version I used (4.0.2) I could have several instancs of logjam running, now I can only have one, requiring me to log out and in to a different user name to post to a different journal.

Re: Multiple Journals

Thanks, for all my looking through preferences I couldn't see that :-)
Unfortunately the title bar doesn't give the journal name which makes things awkward...
