Adding another LJ user in 4.2.4 [Feb. 25th, 2004|08:25 am]

How do I add a second lj name to Logjam? I go to User Manager, but it doesn’t let me add a User.

Essentially, I have a second diary that I would like to post in & thus need to add its username and password. If I need to edit a file, I can do that.

That's a bug.

But you can still add another user: go to "Change User" and put in your new user's login details. If you check the "remember" boxes, this user will show up in the dialog next time too.

iirc we had an "add" button in the user manager, but i must've killed it when i dropped the blogger stuff?

or wait, this is 4.2. i don't remember how that one works.

There are add and remove buttons that do work for servers. We need to either make them work for users or gray them out when those are selected...

I don't like the present ui of that dialog, I have to say. IMO it should always have a "prefs" pane. There's room, and it means less chance of people missing the checkfriends stuff that now has to be turned on there.

it's the same issue as my new poll creator, too: you get this proliferation of subwindows. but otherwise, it seems like you always run into weird sizing issues. (see also: the multiple-choice question dialog in 4.4, where you have one of those annoying sizer bars.)

The sizer bars can be avoided if the window is wider; the window can be made wider if the question name pane be put on top of the answers pane. That would make multiple-choice less consistent with the other question types, but I wonder if that's a problem. (Maybe multiple-choice needs a separate geometry tie id? We could do that too.)

The manager (right now at least) is tiny. I don't see any problems sticking it and the prefs together... in fact lots of apps have paned prefs dialogs!

Gentoo has not posted a new ebuild for Logjam 4.3 yet. Be assured, I will update when it comes out.

Simplicity itself. I did not realize the drop down listbox was editable. Thank you.
