LogJam taskbar? [Jan. 12th, 2004|11:44 am]

I'm running Fedora Core 1 and KDE 3.1 and I'm having no luck getting LogJam to sit in the task bar? On Windows having Semagic sit in the task bar is handy, it's easy to get it up and running quickly. I'd like to be able to do the same thing with LogJam, but I'm having no luck.

Should it be as simple as hitting the minimize button and having it dock in the taskbar or what? Am I missing something simple?

LogJam have somewhat different tray component. Different functionality.

You just have to enable Logjam->Preferences->Check Friends->System Tray Indicator.

I've set that up... now what? It's on, and if I minimize nothing in the system tray. It goes to the taskbar of open application, but no small nothing in the system tray. I must be missing something.

See I don't get anything from Gaim either and I'm sure I have that turned on. I'll have to do some more digging to get this system tray working.

A small logjam icon should definitely be appeared in the system tray if you have checked the "System tray Indicator". The purpose of this tray icon is not to hang there if you minimize main logjam window, but to check if your friends have written something (currently it works for pay accounts only).

Clicking the right mouse button on this tray icon brings a context menu, from which you can open Preferences dialog, or open a new browser window showing your friends' new entries.
