History in the Console [Dec. 9th, 2003|12:40 am]

As I sit here manually updating some community settings through the Console in LogJam, I thought that it would be really nice if basic shell-history-style feature was added so that you could go back and edit previous commands with the arrow keys. Would anyone else find a feature like that useful?

It's not consistient with the interface presented. You might be able to rig a Readline-type interface in Charm or lj-update, but it's not appropriate in a one-box gui like that. A drop-down completion box like the browser's location line would be consistient with the interface, and the code can probably be ripped off from (e.g.) Galeon... but arrow-keys? doesn't make sense.

IMHO, and the devs can say I'm full of it, but that's my two yen's worth.

I don't see why not. gaim already has this functionality in IMs (where it seems somewhat out of place to do this type of thing) by pressing ctrl + up/down arrow.

cvs now lets you run "logjam console myconsolecommand", and your shell's history. thank gaal. :P
