Maybe you know this already, and just haven't finished working on it yet (it is CVS after all) but when I use the history window to edit an entry that has affliated meta-data... the entry text is wrong. For instance... if I set only a mood... then the event text in the history window shows "current_moodid". Or if an entry has music, the event text reads "current_music".

Re:

Yeah, I broke all of that.
I had spent a few hours redesigning everything one way (with statically sized arrays), then it occurred to me that LoserJabber would then vomit on any new metadata introduced later.

I'll need to rewrite a bunch of the metadata handling... :(

Is "magic" going to be a dialog box to create links? I know it's been there for a while, but I just looked at it now. I found it a little bit confusing and only after looking at the source code did I figure out what "s," "lj," and "concat" are supposed to do. I'm not sure if this is going to help people who don't already know HTML. I think it might be a better idea to allow people to highlight a word and then right click to get a menu of options like "Link To LiveJournal User," "Link To WWW Site," etc. Of course I'm not sure whether this would work with GtkSpell...maybe just binding these functions to a hotkey (one of the F-keys perhaps) would be easier, and also place them in the menu as separate actions. Just an idea.

Re:

Magic was was just me playing with some of my ideas for special linking... I'm not sure how I'm gonna do it.

I've often noted (to Brad) that it's much more fun working on a Linux client, because it's ok to assume the users have more of a clue than the windows users. Some of the design decisions I have made are ideas I would've implemented differently if I were writing the Windows client (a task I don't envy).

Well, I should make this an overall LoserJabber post. One sec...

Re:

Yeah, that's true. I guess it's probably pretty safe to assume that anyone who uses Linux and can figure out how to download and install LoserJabber probably knows how to make an HTML link...
