LogJam with cyrillic translation

Hello!

I fixed LogJam-3.0.1 for cyrillic translation support. There's a great problem of russian encodings - the difference between UNIX (KOI8-R) and Windows (WINDOWS-1251) cyrillic character sets. Russian LiveJournal community are Windows users mostly, therefore UNIX LiveJournal users produces unreadable posts for them and vice-versa. Fixed version performs translation to Windows before send request data and from Windows to UNIX after receive. May you apply this changes to main sources tree?

Cyrillic support must be enabled with ./configure --with-cyrillic.
You may get the distribution from http://hors.net.ru/alick/soft/logjam/logjam-3.0.1-cyr.tar.gz - the changes are very simple.

Re: LogJam with cyrillic translation

Hmmm... Just yesterday I submitted a patch that does the same thing :) Well, the patch is almost identical to your version, it's a pity I didn't see this post earlier.

Evan, now I think it's obvious that this future is indeed very handy for a substantial group of LJ users :) Please DO accept it into the main source tree, in one form or another.

Re: LogJam with cyrillic translation

Looks like nobody read it. Nobody read my previous post too. I think, we must write to Evan directlty.

(and better use libiconv then knee-writed recoders)

Re: LogJam with cyrillic translation

I just tried to download this and it didn't seem to work.

Can you mail me a diff directly? I'm sorry I took so long to get to this...

How do you install logjam. I see no directions and none of my linux commands for the job seen to work.

Re:

I forget the commands I was using at the time. It came down to the fact that I am missing part of the program or an add in program that it needs to work.
