Hello! I'm having a problem with LogJam detecting music from Rythmbox. It just says "Error detecting music:" and doesn't tell me any more info. I tried XMMS and it detects fine(had to download the logjam-xmms-client). Anyways just wondering if anyone else came across this problem. I am using Debian 4.0

I think the Rhythmbox command line option to get the title of the current song was removed.

awwl that sucks! Oh well I guess I'll stick with xmms when I want to make logjam detect really long songs that I don't want to type *LOL*

If you're shopping for music software anyway, try out musicpd. It's a little different from the other players because there's a backend that plays the music and different frontends to control it (but this makes music detection particularly easy!).

On Debian, apt-get install mpd ncmpc gmpc (and possibly pick other clients)

I took another look at this, and it seems the method of printing the current song in Rhythmbox has changed slightly. Try going to your preferences, and change the music detection to a custom command. Enter “rhythmbox-client --print-playing” and see if that works.
